SEL Circle: Social Awareness Session – October 29, 2018
DOWNLOAD ALLOn October 29, 2018, we gathered at District Hall to discuss the specific SEL skill of Social Awareness and where it fits into equity conversations. We acknowledged together, with 60 partners from over 30 organizations in our network, that Self Awareness must be explored before we can understand the social dynamics all around us. Finally, understanding racial equity is another crucial first step to take in order to create equitable spaces and systems for students in Boston.
2018 5th Quarter By the Numbers Debrief – October 18, 2018
DOWNLOAD ALLOn October 17, 2018 leaders from the City of Boston, Boston After School & Beyond, Boston Public Schools, and over 140 programs gathered at City Year to announce the historic rate of student attendance and to double down on strategies to expand offerings and improve efforts next summer. This year, during the 5th Quarter of Learning, Boston served more than 12,500 students in 145 programs – an all-time high.

2018 ACT Skills Summit – June 18, 2018

Together, we discussed strategies to advance skill development, learned from leading researchers in the field, and shared best practices generated from Boston's network of 230 program providers.

Summer 2017 Debrief and Celebration – November 27, 2017
DOWNLOAD ALLOn November 16, representatives from Boston's largest summer network to date gathered to celebrate and debrief the 5th Quarter summer learning initiative -- a nationally-recognized, research-based effort to re-envision traditional summer education for city youth. Communicating Data Workshop – March 20, 2017

Workshop on Maximizing Attendance in Summer – January 27, 2017
DOWNLOAD ALLOn January 27, summer program leaders met to explore best practices to increase student attendance. Three programs with historically high attendance rates, Achieve, Camp Harborview, and Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, shared their proven strategies and facilitated break-out groups for attendees to discuss methods for improving attendance at different grade levels.
